Different Genres of Novel Producing The Last Bethlehem Kiss

The
Last Bethlehem Kiss, written
by Osama Al Aiseh, is to be issued in its second edition by Al Fasa’el in
Jerusalem in 2016. The main theme of the novel is the dramatic changes which
the revolutionaries, with little endurance, have gone through to end up
practicing the opposite of what they were advocating for. For that, he set up a number of significant
pillars on which this novel is based. These pillars formed a main structure
which provided the author a means to write in a coherent and consistent manner,
allowing the reader to go through its text quietly and smoothly.
The
structure of the novel is made up of two elements: the first element relates to
the spatial structure and sanctity of which appear concurrently. Mr. Al Aiseh demonstrates
the greatness of the city of Bethlehem delving deeper into its caves, streets,
alleys and cultural features. When he gets deeper into space, he doesn’t veer
away from Jerusalem, for the liberation of which the rebels used to pass from
Bethlehem. The second element relates to the temporal structure which is as
much bright as the spatial structure. He delves deep into the history of the
city, dating back 2000 years, when the cave was the latest architectural feature and continues until he
reaches the present time.
Thanks
to the sanctity of temporal spatial structure of the novel, the text covered
more than one genre of narration and dimension in the novel, making it
fascinating for the reader can enjoy. These dimensions can be summarized as
follows:

Emotional dimension: the
story of love between a man and a woman reaches its peak at a certain moment
and then fades away, leading each one of them to go his or her own way. It also
has stories of love and attachment to the homeland.

Historical dimension: the
text has a narrative pattern covering various aspects of history, recalling
important historical personalities that consolidated the historical depth of
the history.

Political dimension: the
text of the novel demonstrates the features of the narrative that is based on
opposing the thought dominant in the society, especially that of NGOs.

National dimension: the
novel concentrates on sacrifice for the homeland and fight for freedom despite
the gap between the occupying power and the occupied people in terms of power
and military hardware.

Realistic dimension: the
text of the novel is clearly based on realism, dramatic techniques as well as
stories of realistic characters and actions that form credible national and
humanitarian models which the author uses to support positive values such as
realistic events and values of coexistence among the people of Palestine.
The last notion which
the author emphasizes is that all opportunists and defeatists shall fade away and
the particles of the “Hero” in the novel shall fly throughout the desert of Bethlehem
and the Dead Sea. He shall continue
hovering over us until God inherits this land and the kiss of Bethlehem, bearing
a landscape in which Christians fast in the Muslim month of Ramadan and Muslims
fast in the feasts of “Virgin” Mary.
Osama
Al Aiseh is a Palestinian author from the beautiful village of Zakarya,
which has been occupied since 1948. He was raised under zinc-covered barracks
in chilly weather in the winter and sweltering sun in the summer. He is a
creative pundit with various interests. Mr. Al Aiseh works as a journalist,
archeologist, novelist and much more. Whatever discipline he writes in he
excels, with specific and clear objectives. He has written approximately 20
